Congratulations to Jonathan Godinez Paez, who successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation titled "Fronteras literarias y cuerpos ciborg: las desigualdades sociales en la ciencia ficción mexicana (1991-2014)," which addresses how social inequalities are represented and accentuated by Mexican science fiction. His dissertation was directed by Dr. Daniel Balderston, and his committee was composed of Dr. Gonzalo Lamana, Dr. Sara Potter (External Committee Member from UTEP), and Dr. David Tenorio. Dr. Godinez currently teaches IB History of the Americas at an International Baccalaureate College Prep in Texas.
